Juniata Valley and Williamsburg have both confirmed to 6 Sports that they plan on merging their respective football programs prior to the upcoming high school football season.
"Juniata Valley School District is excited for this unique opportunity to have Williamsburg High School football players join our football program. We believe this cooperative agreement will provide additional opportunities and positive experiences for students from both schools," Juniata Valley Superintendent Wesley Lyons said in a statement.
The two schools will operate under the Juniata Valley name and logo, and the Williamsburg coaching staff will join them.
Both head coaches also confirmed the merger, with Williamsburg noting that their school board officially approved the merger Thursday evening.
