Local law enforcement agencies are searching for a registered sex offender who allegedly sexually assaulted a victim before stealing their vehicle in Elizabethtown.

According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's office, on Dec. 17 around 8:05 a.m., 38-year-old Shane Kelec raped and assaulted a victim.

As a result of the assault, police say the victim suffered a broken nose, a broken rib, subdermal hemorrhage/subdural hematoma, a head laceration that needed nine stiches, and a skull fracture.

Kelec allegedly left the scene of the assault in the victim's vehicle.

According to a news release from the DA, a neighbor found the victim "severely beaten" on the ground.

After investigating, police are charging Kelec with rape, aggravated assault and related charges.

Kelec is from the 1700 block of Stone Mill Road in Lancaster, according to the release.

Police say he is a 6' tall white man. He has brown eyes, brown hair and weighs 200 pounds.
