Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — The National Weather Service confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Cambria County over the weekend as severe weather moved through the area.
According to a public information statement that was updated late Tuesday morning, an EF-1 tornado was reported Saturday night along Snake Road and an EF-0 tornado was reported to have traveled across Gresh Road.
Officials say both tornadoes reportedly touched down sometime between 8:40 p.m. and 9:25 p.m. Saturday in the Colver area.
Authorities say the storm caused severe damage in Blacklick and Cambria Townships as it traveled approximately 6.5 miles from the area west of Route 219 to the Indiana County line.
Officials say the tornado near Snake Road reached an estimated wind speed of 107 mph and the tornado near Gresh Road reached an estimated wind speed of 85 mph.
Investigators say the wind reportedly knocked down or uprooted dozens of trees, including an entire hillside of trees in the area of Jewtown Road and Fenchak Road.
Authorities noted that no injuries were reported during the storm.
